The Inn On The
Lake. Cumbria

Inn on the Lake is a beautiful lakeside hotel in Glenridding, nestled in the heart of the Lake District on the shores of Ullswater. Set within 15 acres of landscaped gardens, with sweeping lawns, dramatic mountain views and peaceful lakeside surroundings, it offers a wonderfully romantic setting for a marriage proposal.

The proposal will take place in the elegant Lakeside Gazebo, positioned within the hotel grounds overlooking Ullswater. With the lake and surrounding fells creating a breathtaking natural backdrop, the gazebo provides a charming focal point for the big moment. It can be styled with elegant floral arrangements and carefully chosen décor to create a personalised, romantic setting, while the sweeping views make the location especially beautiful for photographs.

After the proposal, you can celebrate with a special meal in the hotel’s Lake View Restaurant or enjoy afternoon tea in the Orangery, which offers panoramic views of the lake and surrounding fells. An overnight stay in one of the hotel’s elegant rooms, many with lake or mountain views, would make the occasion even more memorable.

We would need to confirm availability and permission for a private proposal setup and decorations with the hotel in advance.
