Boat Proposals

The boat comes equipped with a canopy that can be raised to provide shelter from both sun and rain. ​ Our standard cancellation policy allows you to cancel your booking and receive a full refund up to 48 hours in advance—by this point, weather forecasts are generally reliable. ​ If the forecast suggests poor weather or unsuitable river conditions for your trip, we’ll get in touch the day before to discuss your options. You can either proceed as planned or reschedule to an alternative date. For reference, we define ‘bad’ weather as the BBC forecast for Henley-on-Thames predicting more than a 50% chance of heavy rain during your booking slot. Please note: cancellations made with less than 48 hours’ notice are non-refundable.

An HRB representative will welcome you onboard, walk you through the boat’s controls, and explain all key safety features. If it’s your first time at the helm, they’ll be happy to accompany you for the first 10 minutes of your trip to help you feel confident and comfortable before setting off on your own.

The boat is 6.3m long and 2.4m wide, making it very comfortable and stable craft for jaunts on the river. Both have cushioned seats, picnic tables, and refrigerators so we can keep your drinks cool. A canopy can be raised to protect you from sun or rain. The boat is modern.

Your boat booking includes 2 hours on the water, which most of our clients find is the perfect amount of time to enjoy the experience and celebrate with food and drinks afterwards. If you’d like to extend your trip, additional hours can be added at £100 per hour.

To secure your booking, we require a 50% deposit. This allows us to begin preparing everything for your special day, including purchasing refreshments such as prosecco, snacks, and cakes, as well as sourcing décor and other essentials. The remaining balance is due 48 hours before the event. This process ensures we can deliver a seamless, beautifully prepared proposal experience without any last-minute worries.

We recommend booking at least one week in advance to ensure availability. However, if you have a specific date in mind or would like to plan your proposal well ahead of time, you’re welcome to book up to a month in advance. Early bookings also give us more time to discuss all the details, customise your setup, and ensure your proposal is perfectly tailored to your vision.
